CHÂTEAU HAUT GLEON: FRESHNESS AND FINESSE AT THE MEETING !
In the Corbières, return to the same conditions as in 2018 with a rather early vintage, thanks to our cooler microclimate, and a harvest start on August 28 for the Château Haut Gléon vineyard.
They started with the grape varieties that make up our Domaine Haut Gléon range, such as Chardonnay, Pinot, Merlot, Sauvignon or Grenache Gris. At the beginning of the season, the natural acidity is preserved, and allows to express aromatic elegance and freshness. The flagship varieties of the Château Haut Gléon range are harvested later in order to obtain more concentrated and above all much more complex wines.
For Chateau Haut Gléon rosé, which promises to be rich and gourmet, this year we are carrying out a wine making trial (top secret), and will be delighted to have the comments of those who will have the chance to taste it with us!
The first grapes from the Roussanne and Vermentino PDO parcels entered the cellar on 17 September. After pressing and cold settling, these pretty musts, complex mixtures of fruit, citrus and white flower aromas, have joined the thermo-regulated cellar for fermentation in new barrels and ageing on fine lees. The red grapes from our Grenache, Syrah and Marselan parcels, some of which were harvested by hand, joined the cellar the week of September 23rd, marking the end of our 2019 harvest.
